About Melanie
Melanie Holt was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and is a proud alumna of Clark Atlanta University. She is an experienced educator and the Founder and Managing Director of Project XL Readiness Program, Inc. Through Project XL, students are exposed to a variety of educational activities, field trips and global competitions. With the freedom and creativity that Melanie is able to use during the summer, students are able to acquire skills they may have missed in school, and are exposed to grade level standards that will be taught during the upcoming school year. In the summer of 2019, Melanie Holt partnered with The Fusion Chefs Eatery, to bring cooking expertise to Project XL’s Cooking with STEAM program. The program aims to give students a unique experience that combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math with cooking. The Cooking with STEAM program not only encourages students to cook their own nutritious meals, it teaches students how to apply standards-based content to real world situations. The 8-week program will be open to participants ages 10 and older starting January 2020.
